Dr. Mehran Shafie graduated from the Medical Faculty of the University of Zagreb in 1994 and obtained a doctorate in medicine. He completed a specialization in orthopedics and traumatology at the Clinic for Bone Surgery of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, and dealt mainly with pediatric orthopedics and hip prosthetics.

He has been in contact with cupping for a long time. In his home country, Iran, cupping is a recognized traditional method of treatment and is performed in specialized clinics.

He attended a traditional cupping course (hijam) in Iran and then studied independently what can and should be treated with cupping. He obtained an international license as a physician qualified to actively conduct cupping independently.

He has extensive international work experience in cupping therapy (UK, Egypt, Sudan).

He founded the Cupping Center in Croatia and has been actively involved in cupping for the last two years. His understanding of cupping goes beyond the traditional framework, thus changing the limits of the possibility of applying cupping in eliminating and alleviating the symptoms of certain diseases.
